Alyssa is a general-interest, human-interest features writer living in New York City.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, she was accepted as a 2020 fellow in the Sy Syms Journalistic Excellence Program at Women's eNews.
Alyssa is a proud University of Florida alumna, where she received Bachelor of Science in Journalism in 2016 and was editor-in-chief of the Independent Florida Alligator in 2015.
Previously, she was a news writer at The Forward, where she queued up the day’s top stories for its predominantly Jewish
audience, writing almost 900 stories in a year and a half on a slew of subjects, such
as anti-Semitism, politics and Nazis. As a reprieve, she wrote for Bushwick Daily, sharing the eclectic nature of the growing neighborhood. Between nightly burlesque, CBD-infused coffee and music festivals in salons, there was never a dull moment.
Before making the move to New York, she was an assistant editor at Lifestyle Media Group, a regional publication with nine titles, where she wrote feature stories and covered food, fashion, art, health and travel. She has bylines in Gainesville Magazine and the Gainesville Sun and interned at The Buffalo News, ELLE Magazine and Newshound Media in Tel Aviv, Israel.
