Alyssa is a general-interest, human-interest features writer living in New York City.
In her day job at the Forward, she writes news stories about white supremacists and anti-Semites — some of whom were, scarily, running for office. Coming across feel-good stories on Twitter has become a gift.
As a reprieve, she writes for Bushwick Daily, sharing the cool and quirky nature of the growing neighborhood. Between nightly burlesque, CBD-infused coffee and music festivals in salons, there’s never a dull moment.
Alyssa is a proud University of Florida alumna, where she received Bachelor of Science in Journalism in 2016 and was editor-in-chief of the Independent Florida Alligator in 2015.
She previously was an assistant editor at Lifestyle Media Group, a regional publication with nine titles, where she wrote feature stories and covered food, fashion, art, health and travel. She has bylines in Gainesville Magazine and the Gainesville Sun and interned at The Buffalo News, ELLE Magazine and Newshound Media in Israel.
